Autumn teaching
On this module, you'll explore the well-being of migrants and refugees, examining how political, economic, health, environmental and social factors shape their experiences. You'll analyse historical and political contexts, including the distinct challenges faced by asylum seekers and refugees.
Key topics include:
- the impact of migration status on health and social care access
- welfare provision for migrants across different societies
- the role of central government, local authorities and NGOs in supporting migrants
- models of good practice in health and social care
- the potential for transferring good practice across countries.

Contact hours and workload
This module is approximately 150 hours of work. This breaks down into about 22 hours of contact time and about 128 hours of independent study. The University may make minor variations to the contact hours for operational reasons, including timetabling requirements.
