Studying at Sussex opened my eyes to new opportunities and passions I never imagined - from exploring cultural geography to studying abroad in France.” charlotte Czernuszka
Geography BA (Hons)

“Studying at Sussex introduced me to the wide-ranging possibilities of a Geography degree. Through career guidance sessions and an inspiring trip to the , I discovered exciting opportunities in carbon finance and agricultural policy—fields I hadn’t even considered before.

One of the main reasons I chose Sussex was the fact it offers incredible study abroad opportunities. I had always dreamed of living in France, and Sussex made that possible, even without a language course. The support I received from professors, advisers, and the Study Abroad team was exceptional, and they encouraged me to explore studying at a political science university, which was an amazing experience.

One of the highlights of my time at Sussex was a field trip to Greece in my second year. Exploring the Dodecanese Islands was unforgettable. We immersed ourselves in the region’s history and environment, met with locals, and gained firsthand insight into the challenges they face today.

I love how the at Sussex fosters your passion for the subject. I’ve taken modules in languages, politics, and anthropology which have uniquely enhanced my understanding of geography and its connection to the world.”
